Hydrophilic Coatings

Hydrophilic coatings of the BaymedixTM CH series show low swelling in water and a particular hemocompatibility. These coatings are supplied either as aqueous dispersions or in mild solvent solutions, allowing simple dip or spray application processes.

Key Features of Baymedix CH: Hydrophilic Polyurethane Coatings
  • Hydrophilic surface: reduced friction, improved biocompatibility
  • Strong and durable like traditional polyurethane coatings
  • Low-swelling (< 25% by mass)
  • Retain mechanical properties when hydrated (see table for details)
  • Hemocompatibility exceeds other medical polyurethanes
  • Applicable by standard dip- or spray coating processes
